Great Eagle Running Team Participates in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026
Connecting Communities Through Sport, Investing in Youth Futures

(18 January 2026, Hong Kong) – Great Eagle Group reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to youth development and community well-being through the participation of its running team in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026, in support of the event’s official charity partner, Mind The Waves.

Members of the Great Eagle running team ran alongside Olympic swimmers Stephanie Au, Camille Cheng and Jamie Yeung, as well as fellow participants, demonstrating the unifying power of sport. Through their individual race goals and collective determination, the runners transformed athletic perseverance into meaningful action, underscoring how sport can serve as a catalyst for positive social impact.

Empowering Communities Through the Power of Sport

During the Marathon, Great Eagle Group introduced a matching donation initiative, translating the runners’ efforts on the course into tangible support for youth development and social inclusion. By leveraging sport as a platform for social good, the Group aims to convert personal challenge into collective progress, reinforcing its long-term commitment to addressing evolving societal needs.

Community Engagement Ahead of the Race

In the lead-up to the Marathon, Great Eagle Group partnered with Mind The Waves to present the “Move. Breathe. Connect.” community event. The programme integrated physical activity with mindfulness experiences to raise public awareness of both physical and mental well-being, encourage meaningful community interaction, and strengthen a shared commitment to youth development through action.

Founded by Olympic swimmers Stephanie Au, Camille Cheng and Jamie Yeung, Mind The Waves is dedicated to promoting mental health education. The organisation delivers more than 50 community programmes annually, benefiting over 5,000 young people and families.

Post-Race Connections

Following the Marathon, Mr Alexander Lo, Executive Director of Great Eagle Group, met with participants at Cordis, Hong Kong, where he shared the Group’s long-standing dedication to supporting children and youth development. He emphasised that corporate responsibility extends beyond business performance, highlighting its essential role in advancing sustainable social progress.

Inspiring Young Lives Through Music

Beyond sport, Great Eagle Group has been a long-term supporter of the Great Eagle Music Children Ensemble, which provides underprivileged children with structured music training and opportunities for public performance. To date, the Ensemble has nurtured over 187 children from grassroots communities and staged more than 40 public performances, fostering confidence and unlocking potential through music.

On 29 March 2026, the Ensemble will present a public performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), joining hands with the Music Children Foundation to champion the belief that “Music Changes Lives”.

Sustaining Responsibility, Shaping Tomorrow

Great Eagle Group believes that the role of a corporation extends beyond commercial success. By strategically leveraging its resources and fostering cross-sector collaboration, the Group seeks to create meaningful, sustainable impact within the community. Through continued investment in children and youth development, mental well-being and cultural education, Great Eagle Group remains committed to working alongside society to build a more resilient and brighter future.
